Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a positive and non-invasive approach to therapy that uses art materials to create symbolic and/or abstract visual representation of personal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through the therapeutic process of art making and guidance from the art therapist, clients are encouraged to unleash their creative potential, engage in self-exploration and expression, and become active participants in the healing process.

Art therapy is a non-intrusive process that facilitates verbal and non-verbal communication, and is suitable for individuals of all levels of functioning and abilities. Participants do not need to have any prior art experiences, skills, or knowledge to engage in art therapy.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) approach believes past experiences influence present perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors. Many of these past experiences cannot be resolved through talking alone. Much like a natural healing process that occurs while we sleep, (transitioning between normal sleep and REM sleep) EMDR uses rapid eye movements and other forms of bilateral stimulation) as the catalyst to create change.
